The “pelican flower” or Aristolochia Grandiflora is a deciduous vine which produces ominous flowers that bloom for approximately 48hrs and exude the stench of decaying flesh to attract flying insects as pollinators. Fortunately, this sculpture does not smell putrid like the real thing.
